With this poster produced by the project we intend to share information with society in general about this unique species, information such as distribution, natural history, reproduction and why this species is important for us among other things. We also want to raise awareness about the threats that the species is facing during the last years, the declines of this species, and about its critical situation. At the same time we try to show what has been done to try to protect this species and what can each of us can do to protect this singular and colorful toad.
Here, we introduce you Aty, the friendly and colorful toad, who shares with us and guides us through the world of the three-colored harlequin toad, showing us some interesting facts about this amphibian, why they are important for us and how habitat fragmentation, climate change, emergent diseases and pollution among other have been and are leading to its decline and even possible extinction. At the same time share with us some ideas of what each of us can do to try to protect this species and amphibians in general and in this way our kids will be able to enjoy from this toad.
Local communities are a very important stakeholder to be taken into account, they have a direct impact in the toad populations, and it basically depends of them the future of this amphibian. For that reason we try to involve different local communities of the municipality of Caranavi as soon as possible, carrying out educational activities with games and different activities dedicated to small children and meetings and activities for adults. In this way they can realize about the presence of this small frog and the importance of protecting the habitat where they live that at the end will affect to themselves.
